U.S. Army Corps of Engineers personnel and contractors complete concrete pours for the foundations of new classrooms at Koblerville Elementary School in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands, Aug. 26, 2026. The new classrooms are part of ongoing recovery and rebuilding efforts following Super Typhoon Sinlaku, which destroyed 22 classrooms at the school in April. The replacement structures are engineered to withstand winds up to 194 mph, with steel structures bolted directly to the concrete foundations to provide increased resilience against future storms.
