Media tour the dewatering at Lock and Dam 2, in Hastings, Minnesota, Feb. 14.
Rehabilitative work like this happens about every 15-20 years on each of the district’s 13 Mississippi River locks and dams. Lock and Dam 2 was last dewatered in 2007. The Corps closed the site Dec. 4, 2023, to complete all the necessary maintenance work by March 5.
