U.S. Air Force Col. Christopher Robinson, 81st Training Wing commander, presents a certificate to Staff Sgt. Tyler Sims, Keesler Medical Group aerospace medical service apprentice course supervisor, during the Warrior of the Week presentation at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi, Aug. 19, 2026. As a course supervisor and medical technician, Sims graduates 175 students annually with 100% pass rate, validating 9,100 tasks, 33,000 training hours and awarding 1,800 college credits. He launched a Phase II physical training initiative, mentoring a student from each of the 50 classes to lead 30 peers through 14 hours of physical exercises to align with the Department of War’s new physical training standards. Sims single-handedly manages Keesler Medical Group’s Preceptor Program which oversees roughly 120 preceptors. He digitized 515 records and rectified over 325 discrepancies within the program. He certifies trainers across 21 flights improving training efficiency and accuracy, accelerating student on-boarding, and boosting Group training coverage by 65%.
