    Capt. Nicholas Ondrla, assigned to the National Training Center, tackles the final event for the day, testing their knowledge with a written exam during the Best OC/T Competition. The Best Observer,Coach/Trainer competition identifies the exemplary leaders and master trainers who leverage our greatest advantage, Army Reserve, Active-Duty, and National Guard Soldiers, to build the world's most dominant and combat-credible land force, disciplined in training, mastery of warfighting fundamentals, and the ability to outpace adversaries in a rapidly evolving security environment. The Gen. John J. Pershing Cup is the Army’s annual premiere Best OC/T competition, a rigorous four-day competition taking place at Fort Bliss, Texas Aug. 21-24, 2026.
