A soldier in US Army MultiCam/OCP camouflage uniform is standing and speaking into a handheld microphone, addressing a group of seated soldiers wearing Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) woodland camouflage uniforms. An American flag is partially visible in the background, suggesting this is a joint military briefing or training event. The setting appears to be an outdoor or semi-covered military venue with camouflage netting overhead.

U.S. Army Reserve Command Sgt. Maj. John L. Keawe of the 100th Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team speaks in a ceremony honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Takashi “Taka” Manago during Exercise Ksatria Warrior 26 (KW26) at Baturaja Combat Training Center, Indonesia, Aug. 20, 2026. The ceremony brought together U.S. Army Reserve and Tentara Nasional Indonesia–Angkatan Darat (TNI-AD) forces to remember Manago’s lifetime of service, courage, and dedication to preserving the legacy of the 100th Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team. Manago experienced the attack on Pearl Harbor at 17 years old and later served with the 100th Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team in Italy during the final months of World War II. We extended our deepest condolences to the family and remain deeply grateful for Dr. Manago’s dedicated service and sacrifice.
