U.S. Army Reserve Spc. Daniel Gutierrez, with the 350th Engineer Company, 315th Engineer Battalion, assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB) in support of Operation Ardent Vanguard, operates a C100X monitoring drone during low-light conditions near Eagle Pass, Texas, Aug. 20, 2026. The aerial monitoring provides persistent observation of the operational area, enhancing situational awareness and supporting efforts to detect, monitor and deter unlawful crossings into the United States. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
