When Super Typhoon Sinlaku tore through the Northern Marianas Islands in April, it destroyed 22 classroooms at Koblerville Elementary School in Saipan.
Those classrooms, which were constructed in the aftermath of 2018's Typhoon Yutu are getting a major upgrade with new classrooms that are engineered to withstand winds up to 194 mph.
We reached a major milestone with the placement of the first concrete foundations. The steel structures are bolted to these foundations, anchoring them in place.
