A U.S. Air Force C-130J Super Hercules aircraft assigned to the 37th Airlift Squadron lands at Keflavík Air Base, Iceland, for the start of exercise Northern Viking 26, Aug. 21, 2026. Northern Viking 26 strengthens U.S. and NATO Allied interoperability while demonstrating the ability to rapidly deploy, sustain and project combat power across the North Atlantic. NV26 integrates U.S. forces and NATO Allies across air, land and maritime domains to strengthen readiness, interoperability and command and control in support of the collective defense of Iceland and the North Atlantic.
