The 177th Armored Brigade’s observer, coach, trainers worked alongside Charlie Battery, 1st Battalion, 117th Field Artillery Regiment, 142nd Field Artillery Brigade, Alabama National Guard, during Pre-Mobilization training in Anniston, Alabama, Aug. 13-18, 2026. The unit progressed through dry, blank and live-fire iterations using a deliberate crawl, walk, run approach to build proficiency and confidence before advancing to more complex training.
The progressive approach allowed Soldiers and leaders to identify and correct issues at each stage while building the skills, teamwork and confidence required for effective execution. Through close partnership and deliberate coaching, the 177th OC/Ts helped Charlie Battery strengthen readiness and build the capabilities required for mobilization.
