After heading up a 13-year-long restoration project, Kevin Curtis, Fort Leonard Wood Fire Department assistant fire chief, takes his first seat behind the wheel of an 83-year-old Army fire engine at the Logistics Readiness Center, Aug. 20, 2026. When complete, the Fort Leonard Wood Fire Department aims to use the vintage fire truck as an educational centerpiece.
