KEFLAVIK AIR BASE, Iceland (Aug. 19, 2026) U.S. Navy Seabees, assigned to Naval Construction Battalion 27, position and align precast concrete footers during the initial construction phase of an Arctic Bee Hut as part of Northern Viking 2026 (NV26) at Keflavik Air Base, Iceland, Aug. 19, 2026. NV26 strengthens interoperability and force readiness between the U.S., Iceland and Allied nations, enabling multi-domain command and control of joint and coalition forces in the defense of Iceland and sea lines of communication in the Greenland-Iceland-United Kingdom (GIUK) gap.
