Timor-Leste Secretary of State for Civil Protection Domingos Mariano Reis delivers remarks during a Pacific Partnership 2026 (PP26) disaster management workshop in Dili, Timor-Leste, Aug. 17, 2026. The two-day workshop provided foundational instruction on Timor-Leste disaster response operations and agencies, with a focus on the Draft National Civil Protection Emergency Plan, military support to disaster response operations, and local resident United Nations and nongovernmental organization disaster response operations. Now in its 22nd iteration, the Pacific Partnership series is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster management preparedness mission conducted in the region. Pacific Partnership works collaboratively with host and partner nations to enhance regional interoperability and disaster response capabilities, increase security in the region, and foster new and enduring friendships in the Indo-Pacific.
