    Maj. Gen. Rodney Boyd, the Adjutant General of Illinois and commander of the Illinois National Guard, and Command Sgt. Maj. Kehinde Salami, senior enlisted leader of the Illinois National Guard, arrive at the 1-106th Assault Helicopter Battalion’s training area and greet the battalion’s senior leadership during annual training at Camp Grayling Joint Maneuver Training Center, Michigan, Aug. 8, 2026. The visit provided Boyd and Salami an opportunity to observe the battalion’s aviation operations and speak with leaders about the unit’s training, readiness and mission.
