Alternate reality devices are prepared by vendors for U.S. Marines assigned to Headquarters and Service Battalion. 1st Marine Logistics Group, during a training scenario on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Aug. 11, 2026. Marines conducted a training event that placed them in a realistic chemical, biological, and radiological threat environment, allowing them to practice reconnaissance, hazard identification and exploitation procedures using simulated contaminants. This approach to training helps reduce safety, resource and environmental challenges when executing conventional CBRN events and marks the first use of this type of immersive VR/AR training within the Marine Corps CBRN community.
