In July 2026, WRAIR attended the Viruses of Microbes Conference. Viruses of Microbes is the biggest international meeting of bacteriophage, mycovirus, and protist virus biologists every year. Dr. Mikeljon Nikolich, Chief of Wound Infections, and Dr. Andrey Filippov, Senior Scientist of Wound Infections, joined more than 900 participants at this conference to share their research and discuss bacteriophage therapy, bacteriophage-based diagnostics, and other practical applications of bacteriophages and other viruses of microbes.
