Staff Sgt. Michael Turpin, a Medford, Ore., native, points through the netting used as concealment to help hide the movements on the roof of the four-story structure that is Forward Operating Base in northern Baghdad. Turpin serves with Company F, 1st Combined Arms Battalion, 68th Armor Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division – Baghdad, and helps run the force protection for the Silver Lions headquarters.
