AYASE, Japan (August 10, 2026) - Capt. Nicolas Leclerc (center), commanding officer of Naval Air Facility (NAF) Atsugi, poses for a photo with Capt. Jeff Schwab (right), NAF Atsugi’s prospective commanding officer, and Yoshihiko Kitsukawa, mayor of Ayase City, during an office call at Ayase City Hall. This was the final office call for Leclerc before his upcoming Change of Command with Schwab. NAF Atsugi supports the combat readiness of Commander, Fleet Air Western Pacific, Commander, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5, Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 51 and 23 other tenant commands, and provides logistic support, coordination, and services to units assigned to the Western Pacific.
