(JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM) – Commander, Navy Region Hawaii (CNRH) historian, James Neuman, shares the history of the USS Arizona Memorial with members of the Orem High School football team from Orem, Utah, and Wounded Warriors from Britain, Australia and the U.S., Aug. 13, 2026. The visit to the memorial offered the young athletes a chance to pay their respects at the final resting place of 1,102 Sailors and Marines who perished during the Dec. 7, 1941, attack. The iconic structure remains a solemn symbol of the start of America's World War II journey and a reminder of the profound cost paid by the Greatest Generation to preserve freedom.
