U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to 1st Battalion, 201st Field Artillery Regiment, West Virginia Army National Guard, disassemble and clean an M109A6 Paladin following 12 days of live-fire field training in support of Exercise Northern Strike 26-2 at the National All-Domain Warfighting Center in Grayling, Michigan, Aug. 11, 2026. The Soldiers conducted post-training maintenance to prepare the self-propelled howitzer for storage and refit, ensuring the weapon system remains maintained and ready for future missions. Northern Strike is an Army-sponsored, multi-component, multinational exercise designed to build readiness and enhance interoperability to fight and win. Northern Strike 26-2, Michigan's largest and longest joint readiness exercise, is held Aug. 1-15, 2026, at the National All-Domain Warfighting Center.
