Soldiers assigned to the 298th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion (CSSB), Mississippi Army National Guard, conduct force protection training at Camp Grayling Joint Maneuver Training Center, Michigan, Aug. 9, 2026, during Northern Strike 26-2. Soldiers respond to a simulated protest at an entry control point, exercising access control, perimeter security, communication and escalation-of-force measures. The realistic training scenario tests Soldiers’ ability to assess potential threats, maintain security and protect personnel and mission-essential resources in a dynamic environment. Northern Strike 26-2 is a premier reserve component readiness exercise that enhances interoperability and strengthens joint, interagency and multinational partnerships through realistic, large-scale training.
