Thomas Tenney, assigned to A Battery, 1st Battalion, 201st Field Artillery Regiment, West Virginia Army National Guard, during Exercise Northern Strike 26-2 in Michigan, Aug. 5, 2026. Tenney was recognized for taking the initiative to conduct an impromptu primary marksmanship instruction class on the M240B light machine gun ahead of the unit's qualification range. All 30 Soldiers who received Tenney's instruction successfully qualified on the M240B, including several who fired the weapon system for the first time.
