U.S. Air Force combat rescue officers assigned to the 212th Rescue Squadron lift an Airman into an HH-60W Jolly Green II aircraft during the joint force demonstration at the Arctic Thunder Open House at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Aug. 7, 2026. Commanders will employ units equipped with the HH-60W to recover isolated personnel from hostile or denied territory, day or night, in adverse weather, and in a variety of threat environments from terrorist to chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear.
