Mr. Jonathan Hearl, chief pilot officer for Swarm Defense Technologies, operates Swarm Threat Emulator drones during an Industry Day event at Camp Grayling, Michigan, Aug. 7, 2026, as part of Northern Strike 26-2. The demonstration featured 100 STE drones operating in coordination with two tripods using Wi-Fi and GPS precision.
Northern Strike is an Army sponsored, multi-component, multinational exercise designed to build readiness and enhance interoperability with allied forces to fight and win. Northern Strike 26-2, Michigan’s largest and longest exercise designed to validate readiness of the joint reserve force, is held Aug. 1 to 15, 2026 at the National All-Domain Warfighting Center.
