    U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Chief Warrant Officer 2 Andrew Carter, fatality management officer, Personnel Retrieval and Processing Company, 4th Combat Readiness Regiment, 4th Marine Logistics Group, Reserve Logistics Command works alongside Michigan State Police Marine Services Divers Victor Arroyo and David Jackson during search-and-rescue dive training in Lake Margrethe during Northern Strike 26-2 at Camp Grayling, Michigan, Aug. 7, 2026. The dive training simulated a real-world water-recovery mission, allowing Mortuary Affairs personnel and MSP divers to collaborate on sonar analysis, diver deployment, and retrieval operations.

    Northern Strike is an Army sponsored, multi-component, multinational exercise designed to build readiness and enhance interoperability with allied forces to fight and win. Northern Strike 26-2, Michigan’s largest and longest exercise designed to validate readiness of the joint reserve force, is held Aug. 1 to 15, 2026 at the National All-Domain Warfighting Center. This year's exercise will feature around 9,000 participants.
