    Culinary Specialist 3rd Class Shakira Rivers-Watkins, a Sailor assigned to the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5), walks front and center so she can be awarded the battling bastard of the week for her outstanding efforts as work center supervisor of the S-2 division, on the ships mess decks, Aug. 7, 2026. Bataan is currently undergoing regularly scheduled maintenance in the General Dynamics National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO) shipyard in Norfolk, Virginia.
