    U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Melanie Braia, a dental assistant, and Lt. Col. Brian Gill, an optometrist, both assigned to the 114th Fighter Wing, South Dakota Air National Guard, assist a simulated casualty during a mass casualty response as part of Operation EDGECRUSHER, a Combat Readiness Inspection, at Great Bear Recreation Park in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Aug. 6, 2026. Members of the Civil Air Patrol Sioux Falls Composite Squadron served as role players during the scenario, allowing 114th Fighter Wing medical personnel to practice triage, patient movement and coordinated medical response under simulated contingency conditions.
