    Navy Capt. Kristin Hodapp, deputy corps chief for the Navy Medical Service Corps, speaks to a gathering of Medical Service Corps officers from Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Camp Pendleton in the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton library on Aug. 6, 2026. Hodapp provided career path advice, discussed the importance of career development boards and upcoming changes within the MSC community, and fielded questions from the audience. On Tuesday, Aug. 4th, the Medical Service Corps celebrated their 79th birthday. According to the Navy Medicine website, “Medical Service Corps officers provide direct support to Navy and Marine Corps commands, squadrons, battalions and units and deploy in support of combat operations, disaster relief, and humanitarian assistance missions, providing the best care our nation can offer ashore and afloat.”
