Staff Sgt. Adam VanDyke, assigned to the 1442nd Firefighter Team, Michigan Army National Guard, pulls security during Rescue Air Mobility (RAM) training as part of Northern Strike 26-2 at Camp Grayling Joint Maneuver Training Center, Mich., Aug. 6, 2026. Soldiers assigned to the 1442nd Firefighter Team were transported to the training area aboard a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter operated by the 1-135th Assault Helicopter Battalion, Missouri Army National Guard, before being escorted by the 1433rd Combat Engineer Company, Michigan Army National Guard, to a simulated vehicle extrication exercise. Northern Strike 26-2 is an Army-sponsored, multi-component, multinational exercise conducted Aug. 1–15, 2026, at the National All-Domain Warfighting Center in northern Michigan. The exercise brings together approximately 9,000 participants to build readiness, strengthen interoperability, and improve the ability of joint and multinational forces to fight and win.
