Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Liberia attend their graduation ceremony officially recognizing their new status as drill sergeants at Camp Sande Ware in Careysburg, Liberia, June 18, 2026. They have just completed a three-week course, learning from U.S. Army drill sergeants to train the next generation of AFL personnel.
This training event is part of the AFL’s most ambitious force-generation program in 20 years. It represents a significant step forward in the AFL increasing professional standards to train itself and increase capacity.
