U.S. Army Capt. Aaron Eyerly, a team chief assigned to the 418th Civil Affairs Battalion, speaks with festivalgoers at American Spirit 2026 at the Druskininkai Airfield in Druskininkai, Lithuania, July 31, 2026. Now in its 18th year, the festival drew 375 registered vehicles and crews from at least seven countries, giving Civil Affairs Soldiers a rare opportunity to meet Lithuanian residents outside the scheduled engagements that make up most of their work. V Corps is the U.S. Army's only forward-deployed corps, serving as the senior tactical headquarters for Army forces in Eastern Europe to deter conflict and provide combat-ready forces alongside our NATO Allies. V Corps is operationalizing and expanding the Eastern Flank Deterrence Initiative with Allies, rapidly integrating emerging technologies into training and tactical plans.
