AT Awareness Month
August 2026 is Antiterrorism Awareness Month, an annual observance to recognize the
risks associated with the terrorist threat and provide education for Soldiers,
DA Civilians, family members and veterans to increase their antiterrorism
awareness and vigilance.
Colonel Nancy K. Harris, the U.S. Army Garrison-Fort Gordon commander and Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. Daniel R. Durette signed a proclamation designating the observance to include both Fort Gordon and Fort Gillem Enclave, on July 31.
The ceremony also included installation antiterrorism officers, Gary W. Harris and Tareyon L. Delgado.
The focus areas for the observance include threat information sharing, enhancing security cooperation with local partners, and sustaining community threat awareness and vigilance.
Leaders at all levels are encouraged to promote information sharing, security partnerships, and a culture of community protection. We must continue to strengthen our protection enterprise capabilities to counter the terrorist and extremist threat across all Army operational environments.
