During the ceremony, Dermanoski formally relinquished command by passing the unit colors to Garrant, who then charged Slagle with command, while Deiderich served as the ceremonial guidon bearer to secure and post the colors. Slagle now assumes responsibility for the delta's medical, civil engineering, logistics, communications, and security forces squadrons supporting local space operations.
