A Bell 212 Type 2 helicopter flies inbound toward a private pond north of Prineville, Oregon, to fill a water bucket during the Rowe Creek Complex, July 28, 2026. Water drops from a helicopter are conducted to cool hotspots along the fire's edge, giving ground crews the ability to safely construct direct control lines. Access to the local dip site was granted by a private landowner, significantly reducing turnaround times for aerial suppression operations during periods of drought.
