The Maine National Guard warrant officers celebrated the corps' 108th birthday at Camp Chamberlain in Augusta, ME, July 16, 2026 with virtual guest speaker CW5 Bernard Aguon, Command Chief Warrant Officer, Army National Guard. In June 2023, CW5 Aguon was inducted into the U.S. Army Adjutant General Wall of Fame at Fort Jackson, South Carolina as a Distinguished Member of the Corps. He reinforced the importance of the corps as the liaison between the enlisted and officer corps as well as the necessity of the technical expertise warrant officers bring to organizations. After, they held a professional development session, recognized new warrant officer candidates, and held the traditional cake cutting ceremony. The cake cutting is completed by the oldest and youngest warrant officers. Once the cake is cut, they trade slices, symbolizing the trust the younger generation has for the older to mentor them to be successful, and for the older generation, passing of knowledge and legacy.
