    Operation Ardent Vanguard   

    U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Jacob Withers, a data system administrator with Combat Logistics Battalion 7, 1st Marine Logistics Group, assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border in support of Operation Ardent Vanguard, demonstrates how to operate an Android Team Awareness Kits (ATAK) to connect to a Small Tactical IP Network Node (STINN) at the Border Patrol station in Nogales, Ariz., July 18, 2026. The STINN enables platoons to break into nodes to connect to a Tactical Assault Kit server with ATAKs to communicate to each other in dead zones. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
