The JTF-DC J-6 maintains the communications systems that keep task force leaders and service members connected across the District. By managing radios, networks and command-and-control systems, the section helps leaders track personnel, adjust resources and coordinate support as mission requirements change. About 5,000 National Guard members are supporting the mission, providing critical assistance to the Metropolitan Police Department to help ensure the safety of residents, commuters and visitors throughout the District.
