ATLANTIC OCEAN (July 18, 2026) – Hull Maintenance Technician 3rd Class Carter Hobbs, from Twin Falls, Ohio, applies a simulated emergency water-activated repair patch to a pipe during a damage control drill aboard Freedom-variant littoral combat ship USS Cooperstown (LCS 23) as the ship transits the Atlantic Ocean. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
