Personnel and leadership with Air Force Global Strike Command’s Sentinel Task Force Detachment 10 as well as the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center throw shovelfuls of dirt during a “golden shovel” groundbreaking ceremony near Kimball, Neb., June 24, 2026. The ceremony celebrated the first ground broken as part of the LGM-35A Sentinel intercontinental ballistic missile weapon system’s utility corridor pilot program. The pilot program aims to determine best practices for future installation of thousands of miles of fiber optic communication lines. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Hunter Kirkland)
