    U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Ednell Diaz Pomales, a nondestructive inspection specialist, assigned to the 165th Maintenance Group, 165th Airlift Wing, Georgia Air National Guard, uses an ultraviolet light to inspect an aircraft component for defects at the Savannah Air National Guard Base, Georgia. Nondestructive inspection specialists use advanced testing methods, including x-ray, ultrasound and magnetic particle inspection, to detect hidden flaws in aircraft components and equipment without causing damage, helping ensure mission readiness and flight safety.
