New Orleans, LA (June 23, 2026 Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic leaders conducted a series of strategic engagements at the National WWII Museum focused on regional partnership and economic growth throughout the Gulf Region June 23. The command first met with the Greater New Orleans Development Foundation (GNODF) to discuss its role as a Partnership Intermediary and future collaboration. Leaders then held an economic development meeting that included NIWC Atlantic, GNODF, staff from the Mayor of New Orleans' office, and Louisiana Economic Development to discuss the regional footprint and future growth. The day culminated with the official launch of the Gulf Coast Defense Catalyst (GCDC), a strategic alliance among Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command (CNMOC), Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD), and the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL).
