MRF-D provides supporting role for Australian Defence Force during Talisman Saber

Australian Army Capt. Andrew Carlile, the civil military organization liaison officer for 1 Armored Cavalry Regiment, center, reads a list of supplies requested by the mayor of Waratah village during initial talks July 22 after Australian forces discovered the mock community during Talisman Saber 2013. The village is populated with Australian soldiers and U.S. Marines role-playing to train service members to establish a successful relationship with a community not accustomed to foreign aid. Talisman Saber is a biennial exercise that enhances multilateral collaboration between U.S. and Australian forces in support of future combined operations, humanitarian assistance and natural disaster response.
