Two high mobility artillery rocket systems assigned to the Kentucky National Guard sit at a canister drop point following a successful live-fire exercise during Exercise Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2026 at Pacific Missile Range Facility, Kauaʻi, Hawaii, July 11, 2026. Soldiers conduct post-fire operations and recover spent launch canisters after completing the training mission, demonstrating the precision, coordination and technical proficiency required to employ advanced artillery systems. The exercise highlights the Kentucky National Guard’s readiness and ability to integrate with joint and multinational partners during the world’s largest international maritime exercise. The network of allies and partners across the Indo-Pacific remains one of the United States’ greatest asymmetric advantages. Thirty nations, 30 ships, five submarines, 15 national land forces, more than 190 aircraft and more than 30,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC in and around the Hawaiian Islands, June 24 to July 31. The world’s largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world’s oceans. RIMPAC 2026 is the 30th exercise in the series that began in 1971. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Sgt. Isaiah Jackson)
