Todd Figanbaum delivers remarks during a change of command ceremony held at the Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor chapel, July 19, 2026. During the ceremony Figanbaum relieved U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Chris Nash as commander of Submarine Group (COMSUBGRU) 9. COMSUBGRU 9 exercises tactical and administrative control authority for assigned submarine commands and units in the Pacific Northwest providing oversight for shipboard training, personnel, supply, and material readiness of SSGNs and their crews.
