U.S. Air Force and Chilean air force medical service members provide simulated patient turnover for an injured service member for a mass casualty training during Exercise Salitre 2026 at Cerro Moreno Air Base in Antofagasta, Chile, July 7, 2026. For the exercise, the U.S. Air Force supplied several highly specialized teams to include a ground surgical team, a critical care air transportation team, a special operational surgical team member, and tactical combat casualty care members, to bolster cross-culture medical familiarization between the participating nations.
