Joseph Parsons, commander, Fleet Activities Okinawa (CFAO), right, Dan Dickinson, Army Air Force Exchange Service Senior Project Manager of Major Construction, center, and David Rutherford, Yamauchi Agari Project Director, participate in kuwaire no gi, a Japanese ritual groundbreaking, during the Navy Inn Crew Stay ground breaking ceremony on Kadena Air Base, June 30, 2026. The Navy Exchange Service Command Hospitality Group sponsored Navy Inn Crew Stay will feature 200 rooms and 390 beds for military members on long term mission orders and is expected to open in 2028. Commander, Fleet Activities Okinawa, maintains and operates facilities to support United Nations Command-Rear missions, coalition and allied partners, U.S. Navy ships, submarines, and aircraft, and Joint Force assets in the Indo-Pacific region.
