The event featured a rare dual-ceremony format where Capt. Elizabeth Adriano, Medical Corps, and her husband, Capt. Phillip Adriano, Medical Corps, served as one another's presiding official, highlighting their shared legacy and mutual respect throughout their naval careers, the vast majority of which they served side-by-side as married Navy physicians. The mission of NMCSD is to optimize health and enhance readiness. NMCSD employs more than 5,500 active-duty military personnel, civilians, and contractors in southern California to deliver exceptional care afloat and ashore.
