GREAT LAKES, Ill. (July 1, 2026) Civilians and Sailors assigned to Naval Station Great Lakes (NSGL) enjoyed food, games, and good company during a command potluck at Ross Theater in celebration of NSGL’s 115th birthday, July 1. President William Howard Taft first dedicated the grounds on July 1, 1911 and today supports over 50 tenant commands, maintains over 1,000 historic and modern buildings and facilitates the Navy’s only bootcamp.
