U.S. Air Force Col. Jacob Flatz, incoming 673d Civil Engineer Group commander, center, assumes command of the 673d CEG during a change-of-command ceremony at Heritage Park on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, June 25, 2026. The 673d CEG is a multi-disciplinary professional workforce composed of the 673d Civil Engineer Squadron and the 773d Civil Engineer Squadron. Over 900 military and civilian members maintain an $11.4B infrastructure and provide real property maintenance and construction, support utilities, fire and disaster protection, explosive ordnance disposal, housing services, planning and environmental management.
