U.S. Marines with 2nd Force Reconnaissance Company, 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, approach a beach from the water during exercise Baltic Operations 2026 at the Gulf of Finland, June 15, 2026. The 2nd LAR Marines participated in the tactical exercise to showcase lethality and sustain fundamental military skills, rehearse tactical concepts of employment, and practice ground combat operations in a dynamic environment. 2nd LAR employed forces to the Baltic Sea Region in support of exercise BALTOPS 26 certify forces ahead of 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit composite timelines and improve key sensing and tactical data link capabilities with NATO Allies and the Joint force in the littorals.
