U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Marcus Santana, an F-35B fixed-wing aircraft airframe mechanic with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 214, Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 13, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, and 2nd Lt. Frederick Bailey III, a communications officer with MAG-13, set up an AN/TRC-209 radio frequency amplifier as part of exercise Slingshot in Pohnpei, Micronesia, June 26, 2026. This communication gear enabled the Marines to send vital weather conditions from 3rd world pacific islands to the Royal Australian Air Force KC-30A multi-role tanker transport conducting aerial refueling operations for exercise Slingshot.
